As we described in recent blog posts, the latest DoubleClick Search V3 (DS3) release included a new CPA bid strategy algorithm and a move of the Uploads link. We’d now like to highlight another powerful new feature: filtering by multiple terms.
You can now use the pipe character (“|”) to filter by multiple terms in one text box. The pipe can be used to mean “OR” in any filter text box with the Contains or Equals option. For example, if you have an attribute of Campaign Contains Car | Truck | Boat, DS3 will return campaigns that have at least one of car, truck, or boat in their name.
The new filtering feature is great for creating streamlined agency-level reports. Before this feature, there wasn’t a good way to restrict an agency report to a few advertisers. Now, you can use the pipe character ("|") to list the advertisers for which you want to filter. For example, if you want a report that includes only the advertisers named Air Travel, Car Travel, Train Travel, and Bus Travel:
- Before: You could have filtered the advertiser name by Travel, which would have resulted in a report that also includes other advertisers with Travel in their name.
- Now: You can set up a filter of Advertiser Contains Air Travel | Car Travel | Train Travel | Bus Travel, and the report will only include those four advertisers. Get detailed steps on filtering an agency-level report on the Help Center.
